Miles had his one year check up complete with one bad boy vaccine and I suppose thankfully they were out of stock of another he should have gotten . Also got referred to a pediatric cardiologist to give a heart murmur another listen. Advice to see a specialist is never welcome news. With slumped shoulders and a bit of anxiety in my step I flew home so that yes I could google 'heart murmur in children'. I hear they are common. I hear they can be nothing. I hear they can go away on their own with little more that watching them. But I can't help but feel the need to handle my little guy with a little more TLC. I want him to do all he wants to do. Climb mountains, ride bikes, scream on roller coasters, run a marathon, and tackle the older brother without limitations a heart defect can have. Just have to vent tonight as its on my mind and I need to get it out. Dr. cardio better have us laughing that we had nothing to worry about. That is how all previous medical worries have gone, lets add this one to the list that just is a blip in our big, giant lives.

1st Birthday=Miles of Smiles

I knew before I even met you, you'd be different from your brother.
You'd be fast.
You'd take risks.
You'd be on the move ALL the time.

Henry is more cautious. A lot more serious. He walks around the whole bed before he decides on the safest way up.

You are the comic relief we all need more of. You scale the picnic table not caring about the height. Your smiles stretches from ear to ear. Your infectious laugh is exactly that. You adore Henry and look around the room for him when he's out of sight. You cling to my leg holding on while I work in the kitchen, blow dry my hair, or try to hustle out the door. You love riding on the back of my bike. You love your dog, Coppi. You voraciously eat anything we put in front of you. You amaze us more and more every day. Happy Birthday Baby Cakes!

"Little boy, you remind me how so much depends on days made of now" --Alison Mcghee and Peter H. Reynolds

I took this yesterday on the eve of Miles' 1st Birthday. Inspired by a book we recently received from Uncle Jay and Aunt Amanda, Little Boy.

Henry and the Funny Lunch

We checked out a book at the library last week called Henry and the Funny Lunch. Its about a boy and his dad that make a funny lunch for their mother on Mother's Day. So at the grocery today Henry noticed all the produce and said we have all the right things to make a funny lunch. So this is our attempt at a funny lunch. Its supposed to be a kiwi dog with ants on a log. But the dog looks more like a chick. The toothpick legs couldn't support the weight of the kiwi. Either way Henry was thrilled and so was I that he ate it all.

Beach Boys

We had the best time camping with Grandpa and Grandma Parker. Henry loved riding bikes with everyone and especially racing on bikes and his scooter with Dylan. He mostly loved playing with his digger trucks in the sand, wasn't so sure about the lake. We carried him in and he did make it to trying out the boogie board with assistance be the end of the weekend.
Miles LOVED the water. He could have hung out there ALL day. Its so fun to see the differences come out in both their personalities.

We enjoyed lots of grilling out, ice cold beverages, and s'mores by the campfire. We all slept in our big giant tent with the pack n' play included with plenty of room.
Car camping does have its comfort benefits. Coffee pot, bathrooms, and A/C in the camper were definitely awesome I will admit. We won't have these comforts next month up at Pictured Rocks, that's OK, will enjoy the nature even more.
