Memorial Weekend

What a nice warm weather weekend in the city. Henry kicked it around the forest preserve on daddy's back, but also loved the taste of freedom running around the park. He wasn't so sure at first about the backpack, but quickly got used to it. We enjoyed spending time with Aunt Amanda's family Memorial Day and then headed to our friend's on our street for a bbq and Game 2 of the Stanley Cup. Go Red Wings!!

You are my sunshine

Time and benedryl have worked wonders. One week later only a few red spots remain. Henry's old self is definitely back and I do think those steroids had some lasting effects. This week he has to climb on everything, the sofa, the arm chair, and kitchen chairs. Albeit he is getting older and stronger I know. But after spending an entire day saying no to his standing on the furniture attempts, I've caved and realize I'm to pick my battles and that is what kids do, is stand on things. Yes they'll fall off twice or 10 times a day but that is life, that is cause and effect, and that is picking yourself up dusting your knees and holding your head higher than it was before.

Here's a few photos from the park this weekend.

Medical Mystery Mother's Day

Its been an eventful few days. Didn't think I'd spend the last few hours of my 2nd Mother's Day in the E.R. with Henry but hey this one will definitely be one to remember. Unfortunately there is no cure for this other than to never give him penicillin again. So at least we all can come away from this with an answer. But jeez the doctors weren't quite sure. A bug bite? A virus? Penicillin allergy? Brian says medicine is often like car mechanics. Well on the bright side it won't take much for next year's Mother's Day to be better than this one. Oh and I just have to say Brian drove the mini-van so fast to that E.R.!! Dale Jr. would have been so proud.

Mom's New Bike and Henry's New Bike Seat

Henry totally loved his first bike ride today. Took a short spin around the neighborhood.
