And they lived happily ever after...

Miles Reid born July 27, 2009 at 10:39am. 9 lbs, 9 ounces. Easiest delivery, I now see why people have small colonies of children. We couldn't be happier. Henry adores him so far....
He enjoys holding him, covering him up with blankets, and showing him all his toys. He's especially enjoyed all the big brother gifts our family and friends have showered him with.
Miles is definitely from a bit different gene pool than Henry. He pees all over the place, went through 3 outfits before 10am today,
Here are a few photos we were lucky enough to have my friend Becca Scampini shoot. She can shoot your children too:)

41 weeks and 4 days Pregnant! But oh what fun we had!

Had a great morning at the zoo. With about 12 hours left of single child parenting we headed to the zoo today with Nana and Papa. Brian and Henry rode the bike there and met the rest of us. He loved the hippo this time and the carousel was a hit as always.

I no longer believe in any wives tales about getting a baby out AT ALL. Raspberry leaf tea doesn't work. Acupuncture doesn't work. Spicy Thai curry doesn't work. Walking ALL over west suburban Chicago doesn't work. Walking the mall doesn't work.
But I did have fun trying all of it.

Here's a few shots from the weekend.

The Zoo!

Decided that with the mild spring like weather we were having today, a walk through the zoo would be a good idea. I feel like everything I do with Henry these days could be our last mama and Henry only everything. And also I'm not going to lie I thought some serious walking would get baby brother moving on his merry way to greet us. We spent most of our time today at the Children's zoo. There are a few animals you can pet, goats and chickens mostly. But a ton of educational stations also, an egg hatchery and a barn with cow milking demos. We had a nice morning and enjoyed 2 carousel rides. You'll see he had about as much fun waiting to ride as he did actually riding. A fun and relaxing day!

1 more day? Doubtful

Well tomorrow is SUPPOSED to be delivery day, I'd be shocked if that really happens. For whatever reason beyond my control someone somewhere out there believes I must be pretty darn good at being pregnant and should be in no hurry to be not pregnant. My doctor last week said baby boy is swimming in a nice swimming pool and has no plans to vacate for the adult swim. Are we breaking the rules already? Augh. But as my good friend Sarah reminded me, "Remember they are more work once they are out." Right she is, so I just keep telling myself that.

On a fun note that got me smiling at the end of my work day yesterday, I arrived home to a sweet package from Julie! This great nursing cover-up totally made my day! I managed to get through Henry's first year without this chic accessory, but I think feeding will be much more flattering this time around. And since Henry saw me getting my picture taken, he demanded his be taken as well, so here a few cute ones of him finishing dinner last night. The squinty eye shot was a 'Say Cheese' attempt.

Got some weeding done in the yard last night, while Brian replaced brakes on the car. 40 week mamas can do anything!

July 4th

Low key day spent doing some painting around the house, child-proofing cabinets we hadn't had a chance to get to yet, and a fun brunch out that started our day. Mostly rainy and gloomy day, so we're glad we opted out of the grilling most were up to, and slow cooked tacos instead:) Here are a few cute shots, Henry wanted to show the digger crew that was working on our streets gas lines his 'cool digger outfit' that Great-Grandma got for him. And we were given this pedal car today which I think is so neat and Henry is digging it also. He can't quite get the pedal motion, but he can get around Fred Flintstone style without a problem. Hope everyone enjoyed a fun 4th!
