5 weeks and Smilin'!

Settling in to routine...kinda sorta. Miles thoroughly enjoys a lengthy afternoon nap, so as long as he can keep that up while Henry naps life is good. Henry has been away having a vacation with all 4 grandparents. This has allowed us to enjoy some quiet time with Miles, get to some house painting and other house projects we've been dying to get to. The yard needed some attention that we were able to get to finally. We miss Henry tremendously and it will be a awesome reunion when we get him this week.

Day out with Thomas (and Daddy)

Henry and Daddy headed to the Illinois Railway Museum for the Day out with Thomas event. The mama stayed back with Miles so Henry could have some extra-special time. They returned home with great pictures, a new Thomas t-shirt, and cute stories. They went on several different train rides, one on a 100 year old train! I missed them but knew they were having a fabulous time and likely enjoying all the engines much more than I would have. Henry handled the long day wonderfully reports the daddy. He walked nearly everyone himself, no stroller or carrying. He zonked the second they headed home, but that would be expected.

A wee over 1 week

Here are just a smattering of pictures from the last week. The top one was taken at 1 week old. He's almost back up to birth weight, weighing 9 lbs 4 oz yesterday. Doctor says all looks good. We're getting to know each other more and more every day. I've even managed to have both boys down at the same time for post-lunch naps. I consider that a pretty great feat and a peaceful one at that.
